About me

Hello ~ Welcome to Green Elm Integrative Psychotherapy. I am Jennifer Saner-Harvey and I am delighted you are here.

I have lived and worked in various communities around the world and now reside in Manitoba. I love water and the moon, lichen and snow, listening and learning, music and cooking, and spending time with my family and on the earth that nourishes me.

My journey and approach

My path into this work began with my own experiences of loss, grief, and trauma. My approach is from a holistic, trauma-informed lens that honours our interrelationality, the dignity and integrity of each individual, and the courage of vulnerability. I bring to my work a gentle attentiveness, authentic presence, compassionate curiousity, deep listening, and reverence for the process. I have come to see “healed” is not a destination, rather “healing” is in the fibres of living relationally and authentically in environments of respect, trust, connection, and sufficient safety.

My therapeutic approach is integrative and invitational. The intention is to create a therapy process that feels responsive, collaborative, and alive to the complexity of who you are, opening space for greater integration, choice, connection, and possibility. My work is rooted in the intelligence of the body, informed by neuroscience, attentive to relationships, and open to the spiritual dimensions of being human. Through experiential therapy, we engage both sensing and meaning-making—noticing what unfolds within and gently understanding it in the context of your life. As connection and capacity grow, change becomes more integrated and sustainable.

I recognize that healing does not happen in isolation. Our experiences are shaped by the families, cultures, communities, and systems we are part of, as well as by the opportunities and challenges we encounter along the way. I am committed to offering an inclusive, affirming, and culturally humble space where your experiences are met with respect and curiosity. Choice, consent, and collaboration are woven throughout my work, honouring your wisdom, autonomy, and lived experience.

We are living processes, continually becoming. We are always in relationship with ourselves and with the world around us. I see each person as dynamic and alive: never simply a collection of symptoms, traits, or past experiences, but someone who is continually adapting, making meaning, responding, changing, and becoming. From this perspective, therapy is not about fixing a static problem or arriving at a final version of ourselves. It is about creating the space, relationship, and conditions for something new to emerge, grounded in your innate wisdom and inner compass for healing.
